Earning College Credit at North
Concurrent Credit At North
Concurrent Credit refers to classes offered at Wichita North High School that allow students to earn both high school and college credit at the same time. North partners with several local institutions for concurrent credit opportunities, including Newman University, Wichita State University, and WSU Tech.
When students enroll in these courses, teachers will explain the requirements and procedures for earning college credit. Please note that each partner institution has its own protocols, policies, and enrollment procedures related to concurrent credit.
It is strongly recommended that students keep a record of all concurrent credit classes they have taken. Having this information readily available during senior year can be very helpful when completing scholarship applications, college enrollment forms, and other postsecondary paperwork.
Students are also responsible for keeping track of their individual usernames and passwords for each college or institution. North High employees do not have access to this login information, so it is important that students store it in a safe and accessible place.
Students should also understand that they will be responsible for ordering official college transcripts from each institution where they earned concurrent credit. Wichita North does not have access to these college transcripts, and college credit earned through partner institutions is not reflected on the Wichita North High School transcript. Official college transcripts may be required for scholarships, college enrollment, transfer credit evaluation, and other postsecondary processes.
Below, you will find information about each institution’s policies as well as the classes currently offered through Wichita North. If you have any questions, please contact Ms. Schmeidler in the College & Career Center (D102G).
Please note: Concurrent credit information, policies, and course offerings may change.
