Earning College Credit at North

Would You like to Earn College Credits While in High School? North Has Several Ways for You to Get a Jump Start on General Education Requirements as Well as Certifications Through WSU Tech. 

Concurrent Credit Classes Offered at North:

Concurrent Credit refers to classes offered in high school where you can also earn college credit. Examples include AP Spanish, AP Government, Public Speaking, and General Service 1 and 2. North offers the most concurrent classes in the district! To receive concurrent credit, students are typically required to have a 2.75 or higher cumulative GPA. Teachers will explain the requirements and procedures for concurrent credit enrollment during class. If you have any questions about concurrent credit, please visit with Dr. Moore in Academy 4. Future Ready Center at North:

The Future Ready Centers are new, state of the art centers for students to receive hands-on training, learning opportunities and mentoring from industry experts. For Manufacturing/Engineering: Courses in sheet metal, manufacturing production, assembly, maintenance and automation are available. For Healthcare: Courses in Biology, Medical Terminology, Phlebotomy, CNA, etc. are available. Get a head start and gain the necessary knowledge and skills to enter these career tracks. WSU Tech Jumpstart Block Programs:

Through the WSU Tech Jumpstart Block program, students can get a jumpstart on a college degree, program or certification. The block program is open to motivated juniors and seniors who are on track to graduate, have a 2.0 or higher cumulative GPA, have strong attendance. The deadline to register for the block programs is approaching. Programs available for the 2023-2024 year include Alternative Fuel Maintenance & Advanced Electronics, Auto Service, Aviation Maintenance, Architectural Design, Business, Climate & Energy Control Technology (HVAC), Cloud Computing/Coding, Construction Science, Criminal Justice, Drones, Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), Engineering Design, healthcare, Information Technology, Interior Design, Machining, and Welding.
