North High Learning Center Open to
High School Students and Adults
|
|
| The North High Learning Center is open again
this year. This program is two-fold. It allows current
high school students the opportunity to make up failed credits in order
to stay in sync with their classmates and graduate as a part of that class.
Students may work on Learning Center classes Monday through Thursday from 8:00 a.m.- 6:30 p.m. Friday, the LC is open from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The expectations for these classes are just as rigorous and meet all the same district and state standards as regular classes but allow flexibility in attendance. |
Students may choose which days they will attend and how long they will work on the assignments per session. There are teachers available to assist students. Several formats of instructions are used including computer instruction. Each class costs $75.
The other facet of the Learning Center allows adults who left
school before graduation to return to class in order to earn a High School diploma. These adult students have the same flexibility in scheduling
and attendance and may move through the course work at their own pace.
The cost per class is just $5 with the commitment to spend 6 hours on
September 20th in the North High Learning Center. This is the
date the government counts as official enrollment and allocates government
funds to educate the students.
