Six WPS schools recommended for closure to help close budget gap
The Wichita Board of Education heard a recommendation to close six schools at the end of the school year in Phase 2 budget reductions during its February 12, 2024 meeting. The recommendation is pending final BOE approval on March 4.

Attention current sophomores and current juniors-Are you interested in becoming a teacher assistant or an office proctor next year. If so, stop by your academy and pick up an application. The deadline to turn in the Teacher Assistant or Office Proctor application is due tomorrow, Friday, March 29th at 3:10pm.
"Interested in trying out for the RedHawk dance team? Clinics will start Monday, April 1st at 4pm in the new gym. Tryouts are Saturday, April 6. No experience is required. Pick up a tryout packet in room C113 to get more info!"
Attention current sophomores and current juniors-Would you like to graduate early? If so, early graduation and mid-term graduation applications are now available. You can pick one up in your academy. The due date to apply for early or mid-term graduation is April 1st.
On April 18th, 2024, GraceMed will be here doing dental screenings that will include cleanings & visual evaluations of oral condition, for any student that are interested. You MUST have a consent formed signed by your parent or guardian in order to be seen!!! Stop by the Nurses office to pick up a consent form. The consent form must be signed and filled out by a parent or guardian. Signed forms must be turned in no later than April 16th, 2024.
Juniors and Seniors: We have prom guest forms along with Coupons for Corsages and Boutonnieres in All academies. Guest forms are due back by April 2nd.
Seniors, are you looking for full-time employment after graduation? Then the USD259 Job Fair is for you! Over 250 local companies will be in attendance looking for full-time employees, with most companies offering more than 15 dollars an hour with benefits. For more information and to sign up, please see Ms. Schmeidler in the CCC room D102 and check your student email.
The Kansas Hispanic Education Development Foundation and Wichita State are presenting Tu Futuro for Juniors. The workshop's purpose is to better prepare Juniors for the college process during their Senior year. There are currently only 10 spots available for this field trip. If you are interested, please stop by the CCC in D102G to pick up a permission slip and check your student email for more information!
Seniors, Retakes for cap and gown portraits will be tomorrow, Friday, March 29th in the mezzanine from 8:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. If you are a senior and have not taken your cap and gown picture or want to retake your portrait, please plan to come get your picture taken. The schedule is organized by last name and posted on the message boards around the building. If you have any questions, please contact Mr. Sinclair.

RedHawks, are you ready for Market Day? Join us next week on Thursday and Friday, April 4th and April 5th for lunch at the New Gym. Market Day is our pop-up food court with a variety of your usual favorites. This year, we will have vendors selling dishes from Honduras, Italy, France, and the Philippines! Our Youth Entrepreneurs students will be joined by our Culinary students to offer hot food, yummy desserts, and a variety of drinks. Remember the dates, April 4th and April 5th at the New Gym!
Seniors – Josten’s will be here during Advocacy on Tuesday, April 2nd in the cafeteria. Please make sure you have your student ID in order to pick-up your graduation items. Josten’s has sent out notices to you so please make sure if you owe any money that you have payment on April 2nd. All questions should be directed to Josten’s or Ms. Wyatt in Academy 2.
All tutoring sessions in the library are cancelled all day and after school today and all day tomorrow
