Six WPS schools recommended for closure to help close budget gap
The Wichita Board of Education heard a recommendation to close six schools at the end of the school year in Phase 2 budget reductions during its February 12, 2024 meeting. The recommendation is pending final BOE approval on March 4.

BOE hears an update on the 24-25 budget development
Board of Education members heard an update to the WPS budget development for the 24-25 fiscal year and beyond during their January 22 meeting. Our reductions for next year’s budget are anticipated to be $42 million.

Today is Monday, March 18, 2024 and here is your student bulletin.

Attention current sophomores and current juniors-Are you interested in becoming a teacher assistant or an office proctor next year. If so, stop by your academy and pick up an application. The deadline to turn in the Teacher Assistant or Office Proctor application is Monday, April 1st.
SENIORS! Graduation is just two months away, so it’s time to choose speakers for our commencement ceremony. Be a part of this important rite of passage by auditioning your speech after school on Tuesday, March 26th or Thursday, March 28th in the North High auditorium. See posters around the building for a QR code or see Ms. Hansen in F103 to sign up and get more information.
If you are interested in being a Redhawk Cheerleader for the 2024-2025 school year, pick up your cheer packet in Academy 1 with Ms. Raquel and be sure to turn in your 4 teacher evaluations before March 22nd. Cheer clinics will begin on March 18th from 6:30P.M-8:30 P.M. in the New Gym.
“If you are interested in a career in engineering, join us for the March Career Lunch and Learn on Wednesday, March 27th, during lunch. An engineer from PEC will be here. There is a link to sign up on the counseling department page on the North website. You can also go to Academy 4 to sign up. Space is limited to the first 20 students. Pizza will be provided.”
"Interested in trying out for the RedHawk dance team? Clinics will start Monday, April 1 at 4pm in the new gym. Tryouts are Saturday, April 6. No experience is required. Pick up a tryout packet in room C113 to get more info!"
Attention current sophomores and current juniors-Would you like to graduate early? If so, early graduation and mid-term graduation applications are now available. You can pick one up in your academy. The due date to apply for early or mid-term graduation is April 1st.
